Who we are

The American Eye Center, also referred here as “AEC”, with the primary mission of providing unparalleled eye care services to patients, also values confidentiality of personal data provided to us with utmost care and protection. Data collection, storage, usage, transmittal, retention and disposal are guided by the Republic Act No. 10173, also known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA), its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) and other relevant laws of the Philippines as spearheaded by the National Privacy Commission (NPC).

What and why do we collect your personal data

The data we collect may include your personal information, sensitive personal information or/and  other privilege information. Full description of each type of information can be viewed in the Data Privacy Act of 2012 [RA 10173 (g),(k)] searchable via internet.

AEC collects only reasonable amount of data to communicate and correctly identify you in processing your inquiries,  appointments and other requests with us.

The following data may be collected: 

1. Full name
2. Birthday
3. Mobile number
4. Email address
5. Other sensitive personal or privileged information that will help in addressing your concerns

How and till when do we keep your data

The data being collected from the official website of AEC are not stored on a database. Instead, the information you provided will be directly emailed to our official email address, info@americaneye.com.ph. We shall then email or contact your provided mobile number regarding your inquiries, concerns or appointment requests.

The email correspondences shall be manually archived or automatically deleted once the mailbox database reached its full capacity. There is no need for manual deletion or archiving of email communications with you.

When you set an appointment with us, the data collected will be encoded on our Appointment System and shall be kept to track history of your consults

With whom do we share your personal data

We, generally do not share your personal data with anyone outside of AEC. We may, however, share your personal data to the Health Maintenance Organization  (HMO) provider like Intellicare, Maxicare etc. for approval purposes the medical services you will be availing from us.

We may also share your data with our partner hospitals or clinics when deemed necessary, especially during emergency cases.

What rights you have over your data

You can request to update your record with us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This, however, does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
